Thyroid Congress 2025 in Munich
The Thyroid Congress 2025 took place from 11 to 12 March 2025 in the Alte Kongresshalle am Bavariapark in Munich. Under the guiding theme of ‘Thyroid Surgery – Challenges & Opportunities’, specialists from the fields of thyroid surgery, endocrinology, nuclear medicine and general medicine gathered to discuss current developments and innovative techniques in the treatment of thyroid diseases.
Diverse scientific programme
The scientific programme of the congress was wide-ranging and included numerous specialist lectures and workshops. The focus was on autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto’s and Graves’ disease, the treatment of thyroid carcinomas, the use of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and intraoperative fluorescence technology. These topics were discussed in depth and provided participants with valuable insights into current research findings and clinical practices.
Hands-on training and workshops
The day before the congress, on 10 March 2025, a full-day hands-on workshop was held at the Anatomical Institute of the LMU Munich. Under the direction of Prof Stefan Schopf, Prof I. Sleptsov and Prof J. Waschke, the participants received practical training in modern surgical methods, in particular tension-free open and transoral thyroidectomy. This workshop provided an excellent opportunity to put theoretical knowledge directly into practice and deepen surgical skills.
Another highlight was the workshop on fine-needle biopsy of thyroid nodules and tomographic ultrasound on 12 March 2025. Dr Simone Schenke, the participants were able to expand their diagnostic skills and carry out practical exercises on ultrasound devices and thyroid phantoms. The limited number of participants ensured intensive supervision and a high learning effect.

The Thyroid Congress 2025 was a special event for BioCer, as we had our own stand in the industry exhibition for the first time. Preliminary report on the Thyroid Congress
On 11 and 12 March 2025, the Thyroid Congress 2025 will take place in the Alte Kongresshalle in Munich – one of the most important events for specialists in the fields of thyroid surgery, endocrinology, nuclear medicine and general medicine.
