Effective endoscopic control of bleeding
With the innovative HaemoCer™ Endoscopic Applicator, the absorbable HaemoCer™ PLUS can be sprayed directly onto the source of bleeding through the working channel of a standard endoscope.
The application tube is inserted through the endoscope and directed towards the haemorrhage. The compressed air flow generated by the pump ball transports the powder directly to the haemorrhage and supports endoscopic haemostasis.
If the HaemoCer™ PLUS haemostatic powder is applied with pinpoint accuracy using the HaemoCer™ Endoscopic Applicator, capillary, venous or arteriole bleeding in the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract can be controlled. The system is particularly suitable for oozing haemorrhages, but also in cases where conventional haemostasis methods cannot be used.
- Apply haemostatic powder through the endoscope
- For upper and lower gastrointestinal haemorrhages
- Can be used for endoscopies of the stomach or bowel
- Can be used from a working channel diameter of 2.8 mm
Endoscopic procedures for stopping gastrointestinal bleeding
Gastrointestinal bleedings are typical indications for endoscopic procedures. Depending on the location and severity, endoscopy to treat the haemorrhage is a challenge.
Thermal procedures (argon plasma coagulation), mechanical procedures (clips, band ligatures) and also injections with epinephrine or wound glue are used for conventional haemostasis.
Newer procedures rely on haemostatic powders to stop bleeding. It is well known in medicine that applicators are used endoscopically to apply haemostatic agents.
Initial studies and investigations of haemostatic powders show promising results in endoscopic haemostasis in the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract.
Areas of application of the HaemoCer™ Endoscopic Applicator:
- Endoscopy of the stomach (gastroscopy)
- Endoscopy of the intestine (colonoscopy)
- Endoscopy of the duodenum (duodenoscopy)
